Catholic Recipe: Vegetable-Cheese Sauce

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ac'cent*
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • few grains pepper
  • pinch oregano or marjoram
  • 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups canned or frozen mixed vegetables (cooked)

Serve this sauce with your Fluffy Omelet.

DIRECTIONS

Combine tomato sauce, Ac'cent*, salt, sugar, pepper, and herbs. Add cheese; stir over low heat until cheese melts; add vegetables; heat thoroughly. Serve over omelet.

*About Ac'cent: This is a form of monosodium glutamate (MSG), which is supposed to intensify flavor, but unessential in any recipe. Some people also have allergies to this ingredient.
