Catholic Recipe: Salmon Fondue

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can (7-1/2 ounces) salmon
  • 1 cup minced celery
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 thin slices whole wheat bread
  • 6 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2-1/2 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Salmon salad sandwiches are covered with cheese and egg mixture and baked.

DIRECTIONS

Drain salmon; flake, removing bones; add celery. Blend mayonnaise, mustard, and salt; add to salmon mixture; mix well. Spread between bread slices to make 6 sandwiches. Arrange sandwiches in shallow baking dish; top each with slice of cheese. Combine eggs, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over sandwiches. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
