A simple but delicious Austrian Christmas recipe for pastry cookies. A favorite Trapp Family Christmas tradition.

The Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle was traditionally on December 21. Although the feast is now moved the July 3rd, this day still marks in Europe many customs, and also marks the final countdown for baking and cleaning for Christmas.

DIRECTIONS

Beat egg and sugar until very light; stir in chopped nuts, then add flour. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven, 375° F., about 10 minutes.
