  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Apples, sliced and roasted in oven

Also Called: Lambswool; lambsool

This Lambs' Wool is an alcoholic drink made from ale which dates from times before the invention of distilled liquors. The recipes vary. If ale is used it is served warm. If cider is used it is usually served cool. The "wool" is the apple slices and beaten eggs.

DIRECTIONS

Heat ale to the bubbling point. Add the sugar and spices. Continue to cook until the ale boils. Remove from the fire, and add beaten eggs. Pour over roasted apple slices into your punch bowl.
