Catholic Recipe: Dutch Treat

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 squares grated chocolate

  • make a stiff dough
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

This Advent cookie from the Netherlands is full of the rich flavor of Dutch chocolate.

DIRECTIONS

Cream butter. Add molasses and brown sugar. Stir in chocolate. Add flour and soda. Drop spoonfuls of batter on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten with a glass covered with damp cloth. Bake in a moderate oven (350°) for about 15 minutes.
