As per Michael Foley's "Drinking with the Saints, he suggests this drink for the feast of St. Dominic. The Order of Preachers have many nicknames, one being the “Hounds of the Lord” (a pun on their Latin name, Dominicani, the nickname being Domini Canes). Since St. Dominic is their master, the cocktail “Master of the Hounds” is a suggested drink for his feast.

DIRECTIONS

Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake forty times. Strain into a cocktail glass.
