Catholic Recipe: Confectioners’ Icing

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1-2 Tbsp. milk
  • Details

This simple icing can be used in a variety of recipes, but is also a companion to St. Barbara's Bread.

DIRECTIONS

Before icing, cool bread slightly. Place bread on wire rack. Slip waxed paper under rack. (This makes for easy clean-up). Mix ingredients thoroughly. With spoon, drizzle icing back and forth across loaf. If desired, add nuts or fruits as decorations before icing sets
