Catholic Recipe: Honey Icebox Cookies

    INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

DIRECTIONS

Cream butter; add honey, sugar, egg. Mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add nuts, vanilla. Shape into rolls; wrap in wax paper. Chill until stiff. Slice thin. Bake 10-12 minutes at 400°. Yield, about 5 dozen
