    Seasons

It is helpful for children to have some way of marking the days, for forty days is a long time. A child-friendly calendar will give children a greater awareness of the season and remind them of their Lenten practices.

DIRECTIONS

If we are to emphasize the theme of new life and growing, using the spring season to illustrate our lessons, we might buy a package or two of flower stickers, and the children could paste a sticker on the calendar for each day of Lent. At the end season of penance will be seen to have produced a bouquet of flowers on the calendar, symbolic of the blossoming forth of each member of the family in the new graces of the season.
