The day of the parents' wedding anniversary is a golden opportunity to teach children about marriage.

DIRECTIONS

In the first years, while the children are still very young, mother and father will celebrate the wedding anniversary by themselves. But as the children grow older, they should be allowed to participate in this great family feast — the day beginning with Holy Communion for all, followed by a feast-day breakfast. Afterwards, one might talk with them about the character of matrimony, and read with them the nuptial blessing and the blessing of the wedding ring. This implants in the young ones a deep respect for this great sacrament, and fosters a reverent attitude toward each other in the hearts of boys and girls.
