VOTIVE OFFICE
Formerly the privilege of saying another Divine Office than the one proper for the day. The privilege was abolished in 1911, with the exception of substituting the Office of the Blessed Virgin on Saturdays that were not already important feast days. But even this option has been revoked since the revision of the Liturgy of the Hours after the Second Vatican Council.
