UNCTION
Any anointing with oil with a religious purpose; whether in the actual conferring of a sacrament, as in confirmation and anointing of the sick; or as part of the sacrament's ceremony, as in baptism and holy orders;; and in using a sacramental, such as the oil of St. Serapion, the martyr. (Etym. Latin unctio, from unguere, to anoint.)
