TIMOTHY, EPISTLES TO
Two letters of St. Paul to his co-worker Timothy, whom he converted on his second missionary journey. In the first, Paul warns him against false doctrines, mainly Gnostic, and erroneous moral practices. In the second, he exhorts Timothy to be faithful to the gifts he has received and to gird himself for hardships in the apostolate and conflict with false teachers.
