SERVER
Also called an acolyte, a server is a boy or man who assists the priest in a sanctuary, especially at the Eucharistic liturgy. In the post-conciliar directives for ministers at the altar, they are to be vested in an alb or surplice (Ordo Missae, 1970, III, 81).
