SEMINAL PRINCIPLE
In Augustinian theology the seed or principle implanted in all creatures by God, awaiting favorable opportunity for the development of that creature. It corresponds to St. Thomas Aquinas' view, taken from Aristotle, that all creatures have potencies that are actuated in any change.
