PONTIFICAL COMMITTEE FOR HISTORICAL SCIENCES

Established in 1954 by Pope Pius XII to continue the work of the Commission of Cardinals for Historical Studies, founded in 1883 by Pope Leo XIII. Its purpose is to promote the development of the historical sciences by means of international co-operation.
