PESHITTA
Ancient Syriac version of the Bible. It is the first translation of the Hebrew Bible made for and by Christians, and is also called the Syriac Vulgate. The New Testament Peshitta is still used in the Syrian Church. It was in circulation in the fourth century, and part of it was in use before A.D. 300.
