PARASCEVE
In Hellenistic Judaism, the day of preparation for the Sabbath, i.e., the Friday before. With certain feasts of sabbatical rank, the preceding day was also called the Parasceve. Christ died on the eve of the Pasch. (Etym. Greek paraskeu_,day of preparation.)
