NEW TESTAMENT

In the sense of new dispensation, it is the fulfillment of the Old Covenant and includes all that Christ did and said during his visible stay on earth. It also means the New Law, operative since the time of Christ and destined to remain until the last day. It most commonly means the canonical books of the Bible, beyond the Jewish Torah, namely the Gospels according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; the Acts of the Apostles, the Pauline Epistles to the Romans, I and II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I and II Thessalonians, I and II Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and Hebrews; the Catholic Epistles of James, I and II Peter, I, II, and III John, and Jude; and the Book of Revelation of St. John.
