LAST GOSPEL
The Gospel formerly read in the Latin Rite at the end of Mass, usually from the first chapter of St. John (verses 1-14), except on days in Lent, vigils, and Sundays when a feast of major rank was celebrated, and the third Mass on Christmas Day.
