GOMER

Son of Japheth and grandson of Noah (Genesis 10:2). Father of an ancient people mentioned by Ezekiel as warring against God, King of Magog (Ezekiel 38:6). Unfaithful wife of the prophet Hosea, whose love for her symbolized the love of Yahweh for Israel in spite of its sins.
