GENNESARET
A fertile plain on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. Sometimes the Gospel writers called the sea the Lake of Gennesaret because of its proximity to the plain. When Jesus landed on the plain, a number of sick people were brought to him and he cured them (Matthew 14:34-36; Mark 6:53-56).
