FUNCTION

The distinctive activity of any human power or organ, as hearing or seeing. In theology, the purpose of any specific sacrament; the duty of any particular ministry; the public celebration of an ecclesiastical ritual; the responsibilities of an approved office or position in the Church's service of the faithful.
