FOREIGN MISSIONS

Places of evangelization among people outside on one's native country. The term has implied bringing the Catholic faith to people in mainly non-Christian lands. But the prefix "foreign" is now generally omitted, because of the massive dechristianization that has taken place in traditionally Christian countries and the correspondingly rapid growth of the Church among people who only recently have had the Gospel preached to them.
