EMBOLISM
The prayer in the Canon of the Mass which begins, "Deliver us, Lord, form every evil," inserted between the Our Father and the Breaking of the Bread. Many Eastern liturgies have a similar prayer. An embolism is also the difference of days in the calendar between the lunar year of 354 days and the solar year of 365¼ days, commonly known as the "epact." (Etym. Greek emballein, to insert, intercalate.)
