DISMISSORIAL LETTERS
Letters containing testimonials given to one of his subjects by a pope, bishop, or religious superior, stating that the bearer may be ordained. such letters indicate that all the conditions required by ecclesiastical law have been satisfactorily met by the subject and the addressee is requested to ordain him.
