DELUSION
An erroneous belief that a person thinks is true in spite of every reasonable evidence to the contrary. A delusion is a false faith; it is fixed, persistent, and is a systematic principle for all of one's actions. More than once the Israelites were warned not to be seduced by the delusions of the false prophets (Isaiah 23:26).
