CREDULITY
Belief, especially religious belief, that is not based on sufficient reason. A credulous person accepts the word of someone without having established either the knowledge or honesty of the one whom he believes. Credulity is groundless faith, that believes only from instinct or habit or emotion and not on objective premises that are provable by reason. (Etym. Latin credulitas, from credulus, credulous.)
