CRASS IGNORANCE
Also called supine ignorance. It is the ignorance of an ecclesiastical law, or its penalty, that a person has made no effort to enlighten. Such ignorance does not excuse one from penalties imposed by law unless some qualifying phrase to the contrary occurs in the wording of the law, e.g. "contumaciously."
