COMMISSION FOR SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS
Originally the Pontifical Commission for Educational and Religious Motion Pictures under Pope Pius XII in 1948, it became the Motion Picture Commission in 1952 and the present commission in 1964, after the publication of Inter Mirifica by the Second Vatican Council. Pope Paul VI entrusted to it all aspects of social communications, including movies and radio, television, the daily and periodical press.
