CLINICAL BAPTISM
Baptism given to anyone sick in bed, particularly in childbirth. Since the human fetus is animated at conception with a rational soul, clinical baptism sometimes becomes necessary in difficult parturition. (Etym. Greek klinikos, of a bed.)
