CHALDEAN CHRISTIANS
A popular name of the descendants of the ancient Nestorian churches that are now in communion with the Catholic Church. They are in two main groups, those in Turkey and Iran and those in Malabar. Their customs are now similar to those of the Catholic Church, and they follow the Gregorian calendar. They have preserved the use of Syriac as their official liturgical language.
