CANONICAL HOURS
The prescribed periods of prayer in the recitation or chant of the Divine Office. Also called the Liturgy of the Hours. In the revised liturgy since the Second Vatican Council, these periods are: the Office of Readings, the Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer, the Daytime Prayer and the Night Prayer. The book, in four volumes, for the canonical hours is the Breviary.
