BOAZ
A rich, influential Bethlehemite with a kindly interest in his workers and a strong sense of family responsibility. Ruth, widow of Mahlon, came to work in his fields and Boaz was attracted to her. They married and she bore him a son (Ruth 2, 3, 4), Obed, who was destined to be the father of Jesse and the ancestor of Jesus (Matthew 1:5-6).
