BLESSED
In general, a person, place, or object associated with God and implying a divine favor: 1. a sacramental as a blessed article; 2. a deceased person who has been beatified by an official declaration of the church; 3. believers in Christ who respond to his beatitudes; 4. all Christians insofar as they receive the grace of God; 5. all who are in heaven. (Etym. Anglo-Saxon bl_tsian, to consecrate by blood.)
