AUDITOR
One who prepares the acts of a trial in ecclesiastical procedure. He summons and presents witnesses, prepares judicial documents, and summarizes acts. He never pronounces final judgment unless specifically authorized to do so. He is appointed by a bishop, either permanently or for a specific case. The auditor of His Holiness is in charge of the department that deals with the appointment of bishops.
