AKATHISTOS HYMN
Office hymn in honor of the Blessed Virgin, always sung standing, used on some days in Lent in the Byzantine Liturgy. It is available in several translations for use in the Latin Rite and was indulgenced by Pope Benedict XIV. (etym. Greek a not, + kathistis, a sitting down.)
