We Cannot Have Both.

It has been said a million times: in Scripture, in Sermons, in Literature, in History, and in Individual Lives. “You CAN’T have both.” And it’s always worth repeating.
The more you love the world
the less you love God
the more you love God
the more you reject the world
the more you love yourself
the less you love others
the more centered you are on yourself
the less you are centered on God
the more you possess this world
the less you possess of eternal life
which do you choose?
(Excerpt from Secrets of the Kingdom, Meditations of Fr. Richard Ho Lung, M.O.P., Saint Benedict Press, 2012)
Building a truly Catholic Culture turns on this choice.
Preparing the way for Christ this Christmas turns on this choice.
Eternal life turns on this choice.
Let’s put the world in its place.
Let’s choose Christ.
We can’t have both.
