Remember how much snow there was in Boston last winter? Guess what.

Back in February, did you see me complaining about the record-breaking snowfall? Yes, as a matter of fact you did. I also wondered a bit about what would happen when it all melted.
For us, fortunately, the melting was gradual, not at all dramatic. But in Boston… that’s a different story.
When there was no more room on the side of the roads, city workers trucked the piled-up snow to different vacant lots: “snow farms,” they called them. There the snow was stacked, using backhoes and cranes, into small mountains.
On one “snow farm” in the Seaport district, a 4-acre site was stacked with snow, the peaks rising up to 75 feet. Mayor Walsh playfully suggested that residents should bet on when the snow would be completely melted. Some people laughed that it would probably still be there on the 4th of July.
