Irreligion of peace
By Phil Lawler (bio - articles ) | August 21, 2003 8:52 AM

We can all agree, can't we, that suicide bombers are motivated by bad religious beliefs?
Either you accept the notion that "Islam is a religion of peace," and you believe these terrorists have a warped understanding of Islam, or you believe that Islam itself is a false faith with dangerous consequences. But one way or another, let's agree that "tolerance" cannot stretch far enough to embrace the strain of Islam-- authentic or not-- that motivates cold-blooded mass murder.
Now the question facing us-- and by "us" I mean the West in general-- is this: Can you beat a "bad" religion with no religion at all?

The bitter conclusion that could be drawn: They (the Muslims) cannot control evil within their community,...but (God forgive us!) neither apparently can we!

Exactly my sentiment ever since 9/11. I do not think that in the long run the West can survive without Christ. Secularist humanism is no match for Islam. Without Christ we will (continue to) rot from within & eventually fall.
