A Rochester acquaintance tells me that among the confessionals being auctioned there this weekend is the one used by Archbishop Sheen while he was ordinary there.

I am appalled that confessionals would be "auctioned off" as if they were no more than antique furniture. I hope that somewhere, faithful Catholics are buying these items up and turning them over to churches, etc. This is only one step above auctioning relics of saints on eBay.
