Cardinal Rodriguez Maradiaga of Honduras, who last June compared American journalists to Nero, Diocletian, Stalin, and Hitler, now says that "frightening economic interests" are behind the war. "The true motives for this conflict," he opines, "are already emerging, and there are frightening economic interests involved. For example, destruction is carried out in order to have a pretext for reconstruction."
"Destruction and reconstruction": that has a Jacksonian (Jesse) ring to it, doesn't it?
