The San Francisco Chronicle has a regular opinion column superfluously titled View from the Left. Today's contributor is one Harley Sorenson. This is how he begins his article on the Gray Davis recall debate:
America's Founding Fathers in Philadelphia (not to be confused with the latter-day Fondling Fathers of Boston) knew what they were doing when they set up a representative democracy.
