The San Francisco Chronicle has a regular opinion column superfluously titled View from the Left. Today's contributor is one Harley Sorenson. This is how he begins his article on the Gray Davis recall debate:

America's Founding Fathers in Philadelphia (not to be confused with the latter-day Fondling Fathers of Boston) knew what they were doing when they set up a representative democracy.

Quite a ways off the base paths, aren't you, Mr. Sorenson?

    Founding "Fathers?" This man is a fraud. No on on the Left would ever refer to "Founding Fathers." He must have meant the Founders, or the Foundspersons, or the Oppressive Male Tyranny that Continues Even to this Day. You just can't trust the media.
