Apt metaphor

By Diogenes (articles ) | Jun 23, 2003

From today's Boston Herald:

``Our efforts toward the implementation of the charter and the essential norms are in full throttle,'' Minneapolis Archbishop Harry Flynn said of the U.S. church's protocols to curb abuse.

Exactly.

What would happen if you took the engine out of your weed-whacker, hitched it up to the transmission of your pickup truck, and opened it up to "full throttle?"

The truck wouldn't move. But pretty soon the engine would burn out.

QED.
