Off the Record
staying 'on message'
By Diogenes | November 06, 2008 6:04 PM
Father Larry Snyder, the head of Catholic Charities USA, has sent his "sincere congratulations!" to Barack Obama on his electoral success, thereby reminding the president-elect that Catholic Charities, which receives most of its support from Uncle Sam, could always use a few more federal dollars. Sure.
"I know that you share our commitment to these 'least among us,'" Father Larry assures Obama.
So I guess the unborn are not the "least among us."

The Holy Father's message was more than a congratulation. It also called on him to live up to certain ideals, such as respect for all human beings. It's one thing to offer qualified cograts, but quite another to pander to the new president.

What is this? Why are prominent Catholics sending out their congratulations to Barack Obama? Why has the Holy Father congratulated him on this 'historic moment'? I keep asking myself, if Barack Obama were for the choice to kill 4,000 Jews or Whites, or whatever, would everyone still be congratulating him on his election?
