With a light heart and a straight face, the Curt Jester proposes the creation of a new position: the Liturgical Referee.
The idea has merit. The hand signals could be particularly useful.

If the liturgical referee comes to my Servite parish (Divine Word in Rathfarnham, Dublin), he had better not kneel for the canon or he will be spotted immediately. The pastor has just spent a fortune reordering the church and removing all the kneelers.

I particularly liked the "illegal Pass" penalty. That should definitely be called more often.
