By Diogenes (articles ) | November 04, 2006 8:02 AM

Today is the 75th birthday of Cardinal Bernard Law, the archpriest of the basilica of St. Mary Major. Just in case he forgets, your Uncle Di hereby volunteers to help him draft his letter of resignation, as required by canon law.

His has been an effective life of ministry, sadly impaired by... Come to think of it, what was the problem that led to his resignation the first time around? We've never been told. But don't worry; we'll think of something.

B 16 gave the Diocese of Nashville Bishop David Choby. Thoughtful, orthodox, solid, well worth waiting for. We love him and pray for him.

Publicus, Maybe B16 is taking his time to get things right.... So we can avoid another Neiderauher.

Orthodox Catholics in my diocese were counting the days until our Bishop's 75th birthday earlier in the year. He submitted his letter per canon law yet he's still there and on word on a replacement. I love B16 but I wish he would move a bit faster on some of these replacements.
