moral absolutes

By Diogenes (articles ) | Nov 02, 2006

Check out this ad from Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good:

Some things ARE as simple as RIGHT and WRONG

Abandoning the poor is WRONG
45 million Americans without health insurance is WRONG
Torture is WRONG
Government corruption is WRONG
War without a plan for peace is WRONG

Notice anything missing?

It's always sad when people feign an interest in subjects that bore them. Think of the progressive Christians you know: is there a single one of them who doesn't convey the attitude that religion is an irritating interruption of more important business?

Abandoning the poor is wrong Killing 3000+ innocents a day in this country is wrong; it's 9/11 each and every day.

"Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good" may well be funded by the Democrats or their surrogates, just as Frances Kisling's "Catholics for Free Choice" is funded by the Ford Foundation and other liberal sources. Perhaps you will recognize some of the liberals that are listed as "members" of this political group at - They were formed in 2004 and reactivated in 2006. Expect to hear from them every 2 years.

Of course they forgot something! They forgot to add "Masses without hugs and kisses and kumbuya and bongo drums are wrong!" For such an egregious omission, they need to sit in on twenty sessions of sensitivity training! For shame!

This is the same kind of indoctrination that has been pushed in my parish's Generations of Faith religious education program for kids and adults. It is going on all over the country. The Catholic Church in America is an arm of the Democrat Party!!!

Aborted children cannot be poor. Aborted children have no need of health insurance. Aborted children have been tortured enough. Aborted children are not represented by government. Aborted children are victims of a war with a plan against life.

Government corruption is wrong, but are they trying to claim that one party is less corrupt? If they are, I'm not seeing it. Also, when they talk about war without a plan for peace, are they trying to say that Bush wants to fight Islamic extremists for all eternity? Because I'm not seeing that either. And isn't telling a poor woman that we can't help you with that pregnancy of yours, but we can help you kill your child, a case of abandoning the poor? I'm just asking...

That is a list the USCCB will definitely endorse. Adding abortion and same sex marriage would make them appoint another "committee" to explore it until after the 2008 election!
