Liberals? What liberals?

ANGLICAN RIFT OVER 'LIBERAL' THEOLOGY
-- headline in the Chicago Tribune

It'll be a great day for journalism when scare-quotes and identifiers are used symmetrically.

That, I think, is the message. To those of us too old-fashioned to listen respectfully, there is the hope that we may find ourselves, one day beyond time, standing at the balustrade of Heaven among the unrecognisably grown-up denizens of Forest Lawn, and, leaning there beside them, amicably gaze down on Southern California, and share with them the huge joke of what the Professors of Anthropology will make of it all. http://www.abbotshill.freeserve.co.uk/Easeful-Death.htm

Tkae this picture down! It is nausea inducing! I can't even scroll it off the screen as I type this! Seriously, while these things rightly upset faithful Catholics and even many Protestant evangelicals for that matter, we must always keep in mind that the "wacky nun" crowd want us to embrace this as normal and sacramental expression of natural love. Excuse me while I throw up.

My house is going on the market if these two gentlemen move next door.

If our liberal theologians have their way; we will be catching the Anglicans in 5 or 10 years.

Don't hold your breath. (In all candor, when I was still a working journalist, my scare quotes sometimes went the other way. "The so-called People for the American Way." "...so-called environmentalists..." &c.)

We have enough of the same kinds of fools in our own group without picking on the Anglicans. They are not privy to the truth in the first place. Let us focus on cleaning up our own mess.
