call me irresponsible, cont.

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Oct 19, 2005

In quoting from Archbishop Flynn's memo in defense of Teresa Kettelkamp, I left out a passage which, on second glance, looks more interesting.

The archbishop, you will recall, argued that although Kettelkamp was on the advisory board of a group that was founded and funded by the Feminist Majority Foundation-- in fact, a major division of the FMF-- she had nothing to do with the parent organization. Moreover:

In fact, even with regard to the NCWP, Ms. Kettelkamp was never an active participant in its board of advisers; and since she retired from law enforcement in 2003, the continued listing of her as a member of the NCWP board was inaccurate information.

Uh-oh. Inaccurate information. That's bad. Where did we get inaccurate information?

Maybe from the press release from the USCCB announcing Kettelkamp's appointment:

She was honored with the “Breaking the Glass Ceiling” Award of the National Center for Women in Policing.

She is Past President, State Chapter, FBI National Academy Associates, and Advisory Board Member of the National Center for Women in Policing.

Note the past tense: she "is" on the NCWP advisory board as of April 2005.
